What to Expect

Therapy is an opportunity for you to explore new approaches and thinking to improve your life.  My purpose is to help you achieve your desired changes whether they are to manage your feelings or thoughts, improve a relationship, make a decision, change a behavior, or simply talk through an issue with which you are struggling.

Together we will identify your values, strengths and goals as well as examine the thoughts and beliefs that are keeping you stuck, frustrated, or unproductive. Using a variety of therapeutic approaches, we begin to align your thoughts and behaviors to work for you rather than against you. The most important step, of course, is moving from theory to action which is why you will be given incremental tasks throughout therapy to “test drive” in your life. Through these small tasks, you will develop new skills as well as awareness of your own progress, inner resources, and strength.

About Me

I have been working in counseling since 2011. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State College in Colorado. I received my Mental Health Counseling License in Florida in 2015.

My professional experience includes working with individuals and couples who have struggled with depression; anxiety; relationship issues; grief; life decisions; parenting and parent issues; time management as well as workplace, academic and social setting challenges. My past counseling work has included private practice, working in schools, and in an agency for substance abuse, anger, and behavioral issues. I currently hold certification in trauma therapy. Some of the therapeutic modalities I use includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, ACT, Reality Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, CBT-Trauma Processing, among others, tailored to each person’s way of understanding, learning, and goals.   Let’s get your new journey started!
